After a holiday pause the preventive multi media project The Action with its general partner – the Czech Ministry of Transport and supported by the Minister of Transport, Mr Ales Rebicek, is back. During last week of Sepetember corrupted spring part of The Action – BESIP Tour will be finished. On Wednesday 24th September in Cultural House of Šumperk and on 25th September in the Cultural House of Usti nad Orlici The Action project will remain to its visitors its ambitions – to cut number of road traffic accidents and their consequences caused by young novice drivers and motorcycle riders. These types of road users belong among those who cause substantial part of road traffic accidents in the Czech Republic. As the Police statistics shows they cause roughly every 6th road accident and every 4th person killed.
„Systematic and long term work of the Ministry of Transport in close co-operation with other partners involved has brought statistically verified positive results. But it is still necessary to continue in preventive activities aimed on all road users “ the Minister of Transport Rebicek said. “This is a reason why the Ministry of Transport will start a new campaign in few days. We do not disguise that we were inspired by our most successfull project – The Action. It means by the preventive project, which is able to address young people and to change its attitudes towards its own life and towards responsible behaviour while he drives” he added.
Since its introuction in the Czech Republic in 2004 more than 75 000 visitors, students of secondary and elementary schools visited The Action performances accross the whole Czech Republic. For students The Action performance is free of charge school activity. All costs are covered by the partners of the project. There were 191 re-runs in 67 towns in cities of the Czech Republic. 35 re – runs in 12 towns of 10 regions with expected attendance of 14 500 visitors are planned to be executed up to the end of 2008.
Basic data about the project
The Action Project is assured by the EuroNet.CZ Agency in co-operation with the Ministry of Transport, Road Safety Department (BESIP) . The Dutch enterprise ITC is an author of the project. EuroNet.CZ is a holder of exclusive licence for the Czech Republic and other 12 new EU member states up to the end of 2015. The Action – BESIP 2008 is under the aegis of the Minister of Transport Mr Ales Rebicek. Ministry of Transport, Road Safety Department (BESIP) is the general partner of the peroject. The main partner is the Insurance Company of the Ministry of Interior and the project is supported by the Police of the Czech Republic as well.
